One of my close friend's cousins has recently started recording his acoustic/folk/electronica music under the name 'Moon Magdelin' (or, I think that's what he's calling it). He's from Greenville, Illinois, and the only people who've recieved copies of his CD are people who know him/his cousin, and a few local IL indie music stores. He's not signed yet. You're probably thinking it sucks since it's more of a small, unsigned local thing, or something. But I was blown away when I got one of the first copies of his CD- The Upright Heart: it's become one of my favorite albums of all time. (If this counts as an 'album'.) His sound can probably be best described as a beautiful, eerie mix between the late Elliott Smith and Machina-era Smashing Pumpkins. And I'm really not just saying that to pimp him. [even thuogh I am] Hear it for yourself on his myspace: www.myspace.com/moonmagdalinmyspace . Listen to "Made Electronica" and/or "Positive Penny" first if you don't have time to thoughtfully listen each of the current 4 tracks. If you like what you hear, I could send you (via YouSendIt.com) my favorite 2 tracks [which aren't listed on the myspace], or request permission to make a copy of the CD and send it to someone/ send the entire CD on YouSendIt.

if i was a record company i would totally sign him. i really like the sound. a lot. its quite nice. and soothing. and his vocals are pretty unique. i have to say i do like higher male voices. but his combination of background and font color is like. illegible without highlighting. people should learn they dont need to filter tables. (oh yeah im such a geek ) -listing to positive penny-

I think that you should tell hium to try and get it sold in Joliet. That would be a good idea. If we had any indie music stores.
