so. thoughts on graffiti? beautiful? or distruction of public property?

My favorite art form. Probably because it's actually totally challenging, and forces people to view and appreciate it. By appreciate I don't neccessarily mean like, but it provokes thought and captures the attention of whoever passes it. In that, it is beautiful.
I've always been a sucker for urban decay of all sorts, and I interpret well-done graffiti as "creating decay", which is strange, considering creation and destruction are opposites. That's what intrigues me about graffiti. The creation vs destruction complex it has.

Ah, cool. I liked the commentary on how graffiti is spontaneous and free public art free of any sort of monetary transaction. another reason why graffiti can be such a genuine art form.

anyone seen the movie "Bomb the System"? it was on comcast independant movies a few months ago. i watched it. and quite liked it. and plus thats the only place i can get indy movies besides over the internet.
i would reccomend it.

this group of graffiti artists (blest and some black buy and his brother) go tagging and stuff. its pretty much a look at the graffiti scene. some old master of the underground tagging world or something. and, of course, some cops gone bad. good stuff.
